fender deluxe reverb

The Fender Deluxe Reverb is renowned as one of the best soundimg tube amps of all time.Utilising a pair of 6V6's in the output, they deliver 22 watts of some of the sweetest guitar tones you'll ever hear .

The build here replicates a 65' Fender Deluxe Reverb with point - to point wiring t'out on fibreboards with boutique modern and vintage components .

Heres the layout of parts required to assemble the amplifier. The first stage will be to assemble the three fibreboards..1. the main board 2. the power capacitor board & 3. the diode recitifier bias board.

Heres the schematic / layout .

Step1. Loading the fibreboards. On the left the AB743 main board layout. Notice we're using Jupiter Vintage tone caps in coupling positions and carbon composition resistors t'out. In the centre, a look at the underside. And on the right , the filter capacitor board and the biasing supply board.
Step 2. Mounting the hardware.Valve sockets. Power and O/P transformers and the choke and reverb driver transformer then front fascia and pots and I/P sockets and indicator lamp .

Step 3. On the left , wiring up the pre amp tubes .On the right , the O/P stage and rectifier tube.

.

Step 4. Mounting the filter caps board and wiring in the voltage supply lines. The pic to the right shows the Red 420v, Yellow 415v & Brown 325v
The left pic shows the Yellow 280v and Blue goes to earth. The right pic shows the 2 White wires 415v.One goes to the Red lead of the Reverb driver transformer , the other supplies the plates of the vibrato tube V5.
Step 5. Wiring in the front panel pots. The pic to the left shows the 1st ch or Normal ch . wiring. The right pic shows the 2nd ch. or Vibrato ch.

Step 6. On the left we wire in the biasing board and bias adjusting pot.

Step 7. We wire in the tubes heater wire. The heavy duty green heater wire is twisted together and run above the tubes to eliminate unwanted noise.

Step 8. We complete the wiring by wiring up the rear panel .The on/ off & standby switches, the fuse, and the reverb in & outs and the footswitch jacks. The right pic shows an overview of what we've done .

Next we'll put her on the test bench for switch on. Go to Part 2..
