BLACKFACE DELUXE REVERB

PART 2

LUCAS MILES AUDIO

AUSTRALIA

Here we are in the final stages of our Blackface Deluxe Reverb build. So far so good.

Now we will put her under test to see how she shapes up ..

With a 400hz signal applied she puts out 20v peak into 8 ohms before clipping .Converting to RMS values tells us shes putting out just under 25watts rms. Bias current is 25ma.

In the meantime we'll let her burn herself in before we pass judgement on her tone and we'll also get her cabinet ready.

May 2010. On the left we have a second build completed utilising Sozo caps and a Mercury magnetics O/p transformer.

On the right , cabinets complete and loaded with a Weber 12F150's

Project complete.

Melbourne guitarist David Herzog puts the pair through their paces.

And his final opinion. "Superb"

"the results are brilliant and both amps exude vintage fender tone as expected"

David Herzog first came to fame in the 70s hit band Kush. With credits that include composing theme music for ABC’s Countdown, he’s a session player whose guitar wizardry has featured in many well-known productions including the soundtrack of the Oscar-winning Jim Carey film The Truman Show, Channel 7’s Olympics themes and Channel 9’s Underbelly.
