The Vox AC-50 amp head was built mid 60's as a larger , more powerful alternative to the legendary AC-30 .The unit we serviced here sounded flat, dull and lifeless.To bring it back to life all the electrolytic caps were replaced- the power supply filter caps and the cathode bypass caps . A few power supply resistors that had drifted in value were replaced. The amp was given new tubes, new I/P sockets and alot of solder joints were touched up.The end result is a sensational sounding 60's amp with that classic Vox tone .
